Here is an easy Hummus Recipe. Hummus used to be a mystery to me. It is so simple, we make it regularly and is so versitile that it can be used alone or in other dishes. Here is the simple 5 min recipe

Hummus Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 (15-ounce) can organic chickpeas, (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, peeled
  • Juice of 1 medium lemon
  • 1/4 cup organic roasted tahini
  • 1/4 cup water purified, plus more as needed
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, plus more to serve
  • Few dashes of paprika for serving
  • Salt to taste (sea salt)

Recipe Instruction

Place beans, garlic, the lemon juice, tahini, water, olive oil, and a  pinch of salt in a food processor fitted with a blade attachment and process until smooth. I like to drizzle in the olive oil as it is blending, I have no good reason for it other than it looks cool. If the hummus is too thick, pulse in more water, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached. Taste, adding more salt and lemon juice as needed. To serve, place in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with the paprika. I like to use a spoon and swirl it around to make a nice zen garden like look on the top.

You are done.

Facts: Use hummus as a healthy spread or as a dip. Water it down with some apple cider vinegar to make a great salad dressing.
