We believe if everyone in the world could try their best to maintain a positive attitude, the world would be a better place to live.
How can we be positive in a world where positivism is so rare?
- First thing in the morning, write down your goals. You don’t need to have the same goals everyday, but you need to write down the first three goals that come to mind when you wake up. By doing so, you focus on what you want instead of waking up and focusing on what you don’t want. This little trick helps your brain make a habit of thinking positive. In order to make it easier, keep a journal close to your bed, so you can see it right when you wake up. I like to call it the “Possibilities Book.”
- Praise yourself everyday by saying a few affirmations. I know it may sound like a silly guru thing to do, but it works. Every day, regardless of the time or place, tell yourself 3 positive affirmations. Keep in mind that the affirmations have to be positive and have to be said in the present tense. They are great to use when you feel yourself slipping back into the negative lifestyle. A good example is, “I am successful at everything I do in life” or “I believe in the good in people” or “I trust the process of learning.” Saying them out loud helps your brain think positively without you consciously noticing.
- Keep a “Goals Journal” near your “Possibilities Book” to write down your accomplishments from the day and your goals for tomorrow. In the “Goals Journal,” write down, every night, three things that you’ve accomplished during the day. This helps you go to bed with a positive and proud mindset, knowing that you did great things that day. After you write down your three accomplishments, write down five things you want to get done tomorrow. Whether they are chores or work related, make sure you always have five written down. This keeps you focused on what you want in life.
All these little things will make a positive impact in your life by making you see the light of day. Happiness is only part of the reward you will receive for practicing them. By maintaining a positive attitude, you might even see positive changes in your life as you attract positivism instead of negativism.
We believe that you can be a profound inspiration for others just by making an effort to maintain a positive attitude.
